US drops charges against doctor accused of destroying Covid vaccines
Utah, July 13, 2025 – US Attorney General Pam Bondi has ordered the dismissal of charges against Dr. Michael Kirk Moore Jr., a Utah plastic surgeon accused of destroying $28,000 worth of Covid-19 vaccines, issuing fake vaccination cards, and administering saline shots to children at parents’ requests. Bondi, appointed by President Donald Trump, stated on X that Dr. Moore “gave his patients a choice when the federal government refused to do so” and did not deserve the potential 35-year prison sentence. The charges, filed in 2023 under the Biden administration, included conspiracy to defraud the US and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Moore, his Plastic Surgery Institute of Utah, and three others allegedly provided 1,900 fraudulent vaccination certificates for $50 each, accepting cash or donations to a specific charity, and gave children saline shots to mimic vaccination. Acting US Attorney for Utah, Felice John Viti, moved to dismiss the charges on Saturday, citing “the interests of justice.” Bondi credited Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene and Senator Mike Lee for highlighting the case, praising their efforts to end “government weaponization.” Lee thanked Bondi for supporting Americans who faced “official lies, mandates, and lockdowns” during the Covid-19 pandemic. The decision comes amid controversy, with US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a former vaccine skeptic, having questioned vaccine safety through his Children’s Health Defense group. Kennedy has recently clarified he is not “anti-vax” and will not restrict vaccine access.
