Mitford Incident Linked to Agents of Submissive Forces: Rizvi

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has claimed that incidents ranging from Muradnagar in Cumilla to the killing of Samya and the Mitford incident involve individuals acting as local agents of submissive forces. He alleged that these forces are orchestrating a series of violent and bloodshed incidents in the country.

Speaking at a protest rally organized by the Dhaka Metropolitan North-South Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) in front of the National Press Club on Monday (July 14), Rizvi made these remarks. He stated, “In Cumilla’s Muradnagar, a Hindu woman was raped, and it was claimed that BNP’s affiliate organization Jubo Dal was responsible. However, the victim’s husband clarified that no one from BNP was involved. The perpetrators are linked to the local advisor in that area. Yet, from the beginning, propaganda has been spread against BNP.” Rizvi further highlighted, “At Dhaka University, a mentally unstable youth was beaten to death over mobile theft allegations, and Chhatra Dal’s Samya was killed. What do these incidents indicate? Ever since Chief Advisor Dr. Yunus met BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman in London and issued a joint statement, demands for PR (proportional representation) elections have surfaced in Bangladesh. We now understand the motive behind this.” The BNP leader asserted, “We can counter all propaganda and conspiracies against our chairperson and democracy because the people are with us. If the people were with them, they would never talk about delaying elections or introducing PR.” Warning of a deep conspiracy by hegemonic forces and their agents, Rizvi urged, “Our leaders, workers, supporters, or professional organizations must not fall into the trap of their orchestrated conspiracies.” The rally was attended by BNP Chairperson’s Advisor Farhad Halim Donar, former DAB President Harun Ar Rashid, and former General Secretary Abdus Salam, among others.
