Murder Investigation Launched After Man’s Death in Ilkeston

Derbyshire Police have initiated a murder inquiry following the death of Luke Elliott-Shircore, who was found dead at his home in Ilkeston on Wednesday. Authorities believe he was assaulted in the car park of the Aldi supermarket on Manor Road at approximately 4:15 PM on Sunday, 25 May.

Detective Chief Inspector Jen Lovatt stated that Luke’s family has been informed of the murder investigation and is receiving support from specialist officers. She urged anyone who was in the Aldi car park between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM on 25 May to come forward with information or video footage that could assist the investigation.

“We believe someone in the local community will have information about the circumstances that led to Luke’s death,” Det Ch Insp Lovatt said. The police are appealing for witnesses and encourage anyone with details to contact them via the Derbyshire Police website, social media, or by calling 101.
